SMS Texting Policy

Purpose
This policy explains how our campus uses SMS/text messaging to communicate with students and what students can expect regarding message types, privacy, and opting in or out.
1. How We Use Text Messaging
The school uses SMS/text messaging to communicate with individuals who have requested information on our programs and to support students with important, school related information, including:
- Program marketing and recruitment messages
- Enrollment and admissions updates
- Class schedules, reminders, and attendance notices
- Financial aid and billing notifications
- Career services information
- Student support messages
- General campus announcements
- Campus inclement weather and emergency notifications
2. Your Consent (Opt In)
By providing your mobile number when requesting information about one of our programs either via the campus website, an online form from an official campus partner, a call to the campus, at a community event, a personal referral, or during the admissions process to the school, you agree to receive text messages and you consent to and acknowledge the following:
- Receiving SMS/text messages from the school and its authorized systems
- Message frequency that may vary (standard conversational and informational messaging)
- Messages sent via automated or manual communication systems
- Message and data rates may apply
Consent to receive text messages is not required to enroll or receive services. You may opt out at any time.
3. How to Opt Out
You can stop receiving texts at any time:
- Standard keywords: “STOP”, “CANCEL”, “END”, “UNSUBSCRIBE”, “QUIT” will immediately suppress messaging to that number for the program, with a one time confirmation of the opt out.
- HELP: when texting “HELP” you will receive a text response with an email and phone number for assistance.
After opting out, you will receive a final confirmation message and will no longer receive texts unless you opt in again. Message: You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.

5. Costs & Responsibilities
- Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan.
- You are responsible for keeping your contact information updated.
- The school is not responsible for delays or failures caused by your carrier or device.
6. Privacy & Data Protection
Your privacy matters. The school protects your mobile information in accordance with our privacy and security standards.
We will not share, sell, or transfer your mobile number or SMS consent information to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
This includes:
- No selling mobile numbers
- No sharing for advertising
- No sharing with external organizations for their own messaging
Mobile numbers may be shared only with vendors who provide SMS services on behalf of the school and are bound by confidentiality requirements.
7. Data Retention
The school retains SMS related records-including opt in, opt out, and message logs-only as long as necessary to meet operational, regulatory, and audit requirements. After that period, records are securely deleted.
8. Student Responsibilities
By participating in texting services, students agree to:
- Provide accurate and current mobile numbers
- Notify the school of any changes to their contact information
- Use respectful and appropriate language when responding to school messages
9. Changes to This Policy
The school may update this SMS Texting Policy as needed. Updated versions will be shared with students or posted on official school platforms.
