The primary focus of this course is to assist HVAC Technicians to understand the differences between traditional HVAC refrigerants and HFO/A2L refrigerants, focusing on their flammability characteristics and safe handling practices, while also covering the regulatory and system impacts of these refrigerants. This course will provide technicians with an understanding of best practices of the operating, handling, and safety issues related to HFO/A2L, as they correspond to installation, service and reclamation.

In an ever-changing field, it’s critical for HVAC technicians to stay ahead of the curve and the industry-wide changes that occur. Our course is designed for professionals seeking to enhance their job knowledge and skills in handling next generation refrigerants. Our course is designed to help technicians become competent in the use of HFO/A2L refrigerants but, more importantly, so that they can handle them safely and effectively.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion as verification of our expanded skill set and continued professional development.

Continuing education courses are excluded from accreditation with the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), and licensing from the Delaware Department of Education.

Course Schedule

This course is comprised of 4 hours of training, followed by a closed-book, proctored exam to receive the A2L Refrigerant Safety certificate.

Refund Policy

No refunds will be given for non-credit courses. If a course is cancelled by Dawn Career Institute, students have an option of enrolling into the next available course or receiving a full refund.

All materials will be provided at the time training is conducted.
