Is your business ready for the EPA’s NEW R-410A HVAC Regulations?

R-410A HVAC Regulations

HVAC equipment manufacturers are expected to run out of R-410A systems in the first half of this year. As a result, HVAC companies need to ensure their technicians are trained and certified on the safe handling of HFO/A2L refrigerants that will become mainstream this year.

Under the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act:

  • The Technology Transitions Program restricts the use of certain higher-GWP HFCs in sectors and subsectors where lower-GWP alternatives are available or will soon be available.
  • The first restrictions began January 1, 2025.

From Air Conditioning / Heating/ Refrigeration News – achrnews.com:

  • Contractors will still be able to install new split-system R-410A equipment until December 31, 2025, if they can find it.
  • Most manufacturers have indicated that they expect to have some R-410A inventory through the first quarter of 2025 but that it will likely not be available much longer after that.
  • Some contractors are already noticing that certain types of R-410A equipment are becoming scarce.

Don’t get caught off-guard! Ensure your technicians have the required training and certification TODAY to install and service these new A2L systems.

Dawn Career Institute’s convenient 4-hour A2L Refrigerant Safety course will teach HVAC Technicians the differences between traditional HVAC refrigerants and HFO/A2L refrigerants, focusing on their flammability characteristics and safe handling practices, while also covering the regulatory and system impacts of these refrigerants. This course will provide technicians with an understanding of best practices of the operation, handling, and safety issues related to HFO/A2L, as they correspond to installation, service, and reclamation.

DCI’s A2L Refrigerant Safety Training and Certification course is an approved training for North American Technician Excellence (NATE) CEU hours.

The course will be held onsite at our campus located at 252 Chapman Road, Newark, DE 19702, and is comprised of 4 hours of hands-on training followed by a closed-book, proctored exam to receive the A2L Refrigerant Safety certificate. Special group pricing is available!

We are currently enrolling for classes. For more information on this course, please visit DCI A2L Refrigerant Safety Training and Certification or call our Director of Business Development Tony Bonacci at 302-545-7983. We look forward to helping your staff obtain this important safety training!
