What Does an HVAC Technician Do?

HVAC Technicians work on heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems to control the temperature in residential or commercial buildings. HVAC Technicians inspect and troubleshoot systems for malfunctions and explain the system status with customers. Technicians are responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systems, including replacing broken parts and keeping records of the work they perform.

Where Can HVAC Technicians Work?
HVAC Technicians can work for residential customers in houses, or for commercial businesses such as schools, hospitals, office buildings, factories and retail stores. Most of the work technicians perform is indoors, but some technicians may need to service systems outdoors.
